I’ll be brutally honest, most New Yorkers tend to avoid Times Square like the plague. It’s chaotic, loud, and unapologetically touristy. It’s the overcrowded and cheesiest part of the City pretty much all year round. And I asked myself, did we ...
really need another attraction like this in NYC? Well, the new observation deck at One Times Square offers something genuinely different, even for locals who think they’ve seen it all.
For about $30, you take a quick 30-second elevator ride to the rooftop, right above the intersection of Broadway, 7th Avenue, 42nd and 43rd Street. From up there you can see the entire Times Square district from above, which is a completely different experience compared to being down in the crowds. They all look like ants from the One Times Square terrace.
One of the highlights is the glass corridor, where you can walk with the city directly beneath your feet! Amazing views, but definitely not recommended if you have vertigo.
You also get to see the famous Times Square Ball, the one dropped every year during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The visit is fairly short (about 15–30 minutes), but the staff was very friendly. Carlton welcomed us with some fun trivia about the United States and made the experience more engaging.
Overall, it’s a quick but interesting stop if you want to see the majesty of Times Square from a point of view you’ve probably never experienced before!

From the Viewing Deck to the iCandy Experience, This place is amazing. You can actually go up to where The New Years Ball is and look at all of Time Square from up there at the Observation Deck. It's beautiful whether it's daytime or nighttime....
I highly recommend visiting. Also, the iCandy Experience is so fun it's like a museum of New York with a Willy Wonka twist. There's Candy everywhere! It doesn't matter if you're a kid or an adult, you've gotta check this place out. It's absolutely amazing 😁😁😁

We enjoyed our experience. Staff were very helpful, and friendly. They have several bathroom stalls although you have to go back down to the 2nd floor. Better visit it before going up the 19th floor. The glass walkway is short distance but enou...
gh to give you a feel of walking on air. 30 minutes is more than enough to go around and take a lot of pictures, and videos. I recommend going there.

This experience was awesome! Such amazing views of the city and so incredible to be able to see the ball up close that we have seen on TV so many years on New Years Eve! Staff were very friendly, offering to take pictures of us, giving us info ...
on the history of the famous ball drop! Worth a stop here for sure!

One Times Square was one of those attractions I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from. From the street it feels larger than life. After all, this is the building the world watches every New Year’s Eve. Once inside, it is surprisingly intimate.
...
The highlight is the glass catwalk that extends out over Times Square. Standing there and looking down at the crowds, the taxis, and the endless stream of people moving through the crossroads of the world is a perspective most visitors never get to see. The observation areas wrap around the building, giving you views in every direction and a chance to appreciate just how massive the city feels from above.
Inside, you can get an up close look at the famous New Year’s Eve Ball itself. What struck me most was how much smaller it seemed in person than it does on television. Like many famous things, the camera has a way of making it feel larger than life.
One of the more unique souvenirs they offer is the opportunity to purchase an actual crystal from a previous year’s ball. I could not pass that up. Nannette and I stood in Times Square last New Year’s Eve watching that very ball descend to welcome a new year. Now we have a small piece of it sitting at home. It is not just a souvenir. It is a tangible reminder of a memory we shared together.
There are bigger observation decks in New York and there are taller buildings with more dramatic views. That is not really the point of this one. One Times Square is about standing in a place that has become part of American culture and taking home a little piece of that history. Sometimes the stories behind a place matter just as much as the view.
